Sales
Sales activity is the main income of the company as if the sales activities of products and services are not managed properly it can cost the company directly . It can be caused due to the expected sales targets are not achieved and revenues would be reduced . More detail can be seen from the definition of sales itself is as follows :
Definition of sales by Henry Simamora ( 2000 ; 24 ) in the book " Accounting for Decision Making Business Base " states that : " Sales are prevalent in corporate revenues and a gross amount charged to customers for goods and services " . Definition of sales by Chairul Marom ( 2002: 28 ) in the book " Trade Company Accounting System " states that : "The sale means the sale of merchandise as the company's main business is usually done on a regular basis " . Based on the above definition , it can be concluded that the sale is a mutual agreement between the seller and the buyer , where the seller offers a product with the hope buyer can submit a sum of money as a measure of the product of the agreed sale price .
Classification Sales Transactions
There are several kinds of sales transactions according to La Midjan ( 2001: 170 ) in his book " Accounting Information Systems 1 " can be classified as follows :
1 . Cash sales
2 . Credit sales
3 . Tender sales
4 . Export Sales
5. Export Wholesale "
According to the above understanding can be described as follows :
a. Cash sales
Is sales are cash and carry generally occurs in cash payments and may also occur during the month are considered cash .
b . Credit sales
Sales with a grace period is an average of over one month .
c . Tender sales
Is ynag sales conducted through a tender procedure for the tender held up In addition to the various procedures .
a. Export Sales
Sales are conducted by the foreign buyers who import goods.
b . Wholesale sales
Is not direct sales to buyers , but through wholesalers or retail .
From the description above, the sale has a variety of sales transactions which consist of : cash sales , credit sales , sales tenders , consignment sales , export sales , and wholesale sales .
Sales Objectives
In a company's sales activities are activities that are important , because with the activities of the sales profit will be formed to ensure its survival .
The general objective of the sale is owned by the company according to Basu Swastha ( 2005: 404 ) in his book " Sales Management " , namely :
1 . Achieve a certain sales volume .
2 . Got a certain profit .
3 . Support the growth of the company .
Based on the above it can be concluded that the common goal is the company in sales activities to achieve sales volume , gain maximum profit with the smallest capital , and support the growth of a company .
